Mr L is interested in getting one. I put my foot down about an iphone, he never has his ordinary mobile on him so why bother with a fancy pants one.
I am a miserable mare though. Agree about the name, it does sound like a feminine hygiene product.

If it is near 500chf for the lowest specs one, I will buy one for my son.
If the swiss market marks it up, then forget it.
I may buy it from the US.
iPAD? More like iTablet....sounds like medicine.
iALSOCAN.
iNEEDONE.
iWANTONE.
iMUSTBECRAZY...
anymore names?

iTablet is my favourite name as the word sounds:
- solid and effective
- qualities of stone: valid , long-lasting, resilient and confident with a hint of 'Moses'.
- qualities of stone: ancient, intransient, traditional, old-testament, heavy, inflexible and hard.
My guess is that some advertising agency was paid $200k to provide the information I have just written about the name iTablet, and here, I have done it for nothing.
I'm wasted as an engineer.

BigD | Indeed.... remind me to tell you of the time we paid an advertising agency a heap of dosh for crap product and brand names.

It's always possible someone else got there first - the name "tablet PC" has been knocking around for quite a while. Quote:

I'm wasted as an engineer. | Advertising can pay exceptionally well but apparently you are finished/burned out by about 30-35. The one chap I know who did it bought a farm in the Dales and started a jam factory. The last time I saw him he was trying to stay small because he values his pint in the local after work, home life etc., but was putting it at risk by having the Roux Brothers as customers.
