Default Pirate Videos are better than legal

Ok, just a little peeved now, despite purchasing a brand new blue ray of Wall-E, at a reasonable price, Disney still deem it worthwhile to force me to watch a bunch of ads before I can watch the film.

I know I can skip them, but I ****ing paid for the film already. I don't get this **** if I just download the film from PB.

Madness isn't it, annoying advertising that is only ever shown to people that have purchased a legitimate copy.

The whole industry needs a rethink.

Disney are the worse culprits, and it's because they know the videos will be watched by kids.

I think the only people who ever see the unskippable FBI warning are people who actually purchased the film.

I think I read this early last year. There was a film/advertising industry chap who was claiming that skipping past adverts was immoral. He came over as incredibly out of touch.

My girl has a copy of Mulan 2 that I purchased from Migros bucher whathave you place legally rather than Pantip plaza Bangkok where the majority of her films come from. To actually get to the start of the film you have to endure 28 minutes of ad's for Disney princess websites, Aladdin, Mickey first chuffing christmas etc. There is no way to skip this so if she wants to watch mulan triumph yet again over evil emporer whoever (I tend not to watch these films) you must watch Disney's evil empire building and the pester factor. We tend to start the film, turn the picture off, eat our dinner and then she's good to go.

I find trailers entertaining if they are relevant - if only to discover how formulaic and dull most mainstream movie output is - if they can be either skipped (opt-out), or even better selected (opt-in) from an "extras" menu on the DVD. Nothing worse that trailers for crap rom-coms or anti theft preaching.

The thought of screaming kids wanting to watch their favourite movie (or bit of one) but being forced to wait half an hour would definitely give me the motivation to go the pirate route or investigate ways of ripping DVDs.

I could see a Plan B there, with frustrated parents as the target audience.
