I have never been there myself, but it was recommended by some friends of us who live in Bern. Being on a Monday it's not possible for us to attend. I just thought that it would be interesting for someone living in Bern or someone who has the day off. As I've been told it's a very old tradition and yes, it is a huge onion market.
