Has anyone actually fallen overboard yet ? It is very easy to overdo it when:

a) the drinks are free
b) you are being plied to sample and encouraged to consume.

If this were another town, there would be a swimming contest between the moored boats...

How does this work? Do you need tickets in advance or do you just stumble in?

If you are not going to adopt the frogman with knife between the teeth approach, I think you need to pay. I think its about 15chf, but there are usually about 7 or eight ships lined-up.

They should really allow a spot of frigging in the rigging to liven up proceedings. I have been to about 6 of the last ten years, and I have yet to sober up.

20CHF, actually.... was there yesterday until it became too overcrowded. After a while you don't know if you dizzy because you had too much wine or because the boat is rocking too much.

It's free on weekdays if you get there before 13:00. And those boats are firmly tied up to the quay. It's you that's rocking from side to side, not them. Unless it's really windy.

Don't let us stop you....

I have a history of this kind of thing unfortunately...mercifully I have missed the boat completely as the event finished yesterday
