[Nov 12] Wine Ship Quaffing !

There is an array of fine vessels down by Bürkliplatz in Zürich that are setup as a floating wine festival. It is only running until 13th , and although it's short notice, it seems only right that we from a delegation of Swiss Conspirators to check it out; hold glasses by the stems; stossen, look each other in the eye and talk bollox while trying to establish whether the swiss wine is any good...

I suggest this Wednesday 12th is a good night for this ! Come along and let's see how far we can push the "just another a little sample please" request...

Can you believe it that after almost 20 years in CH I still haven't made it to those boats. And I ain't gonna be able to make it this time either :-(

Oh yeah.....will be there, delicately holding my glass (by the stem of course), pinkie raised in the air, waxing lyrically about 'acidity' 'sugar', 'bouquet' and 'nose' and other such winey terms.

One little hint....under no circumstance should one do what I tried several years ago.....after being fed up with being ignored for a looong time, I proceeded to help myself from the sample bottle....big mistake !! Was well and truly (and loudly) told off !!

Well that's a shame. I was looking forward again to hearing you say : I told you I drank only six bottles of wine, not eight. We tell you six and you bring a bill for eight ! And another thing....

Last time I did one was in Zug; I discovered some fantastic wines and that you can become seasick moored.

Time to try those sea legs again.
