You are of course right Mr Bat. I forgot about that and each time we went to a museum I'd regret my oversight. Never mind, roll on July..............

I had the idea in my mind that it would be more interactive and hands on than it is. At least we can say we've been.
This is not far from the southern most gate of the Peach estate, I frequently pass it. It doesn't look too inspiring from the outside I must say, reminds me of the craggy island theme park in Father Ted.

Well i wish I'd stayed at home and painted the ballroom rather than go there. the biggest issue I had with it, apart from boredom, was the gift shop right at the start. I don't think my girl is any different to any other child in her love of shiney furry things. It's hard to direct interest toward bones when there are cuddly toys on offer

Thanks for that image; I've just tried to explain what a walrus of lurve is to a eight year old. She is a bit slow on the uptake today, she told me that you have to sprinkle salt on a zombie to kill it. WTF is she learning at school.

Yesterday we visited Lattich. Not as much fun in the winter as the summer when there are, I think, 4 or 5 outside pools, much grass, BBQ's and of course leather lady to enjoy.
Lattich has a cafe too so the children can enjoy highly processed deep fried food while the adults can have beer.
A word of warning to the weaker sex, men aren't allowed into the Damen changing rooms and they are particularly unwelcome when they swing their wang's around. Scandalous behaviour yesterday.

I am most pleased today as I managed to survive a brunch with a gaggle of lively children (3 months to 3.5 years). Can't remember ever being in a confined area with so much noise but I actually enjoyed it !!
Must be getting soft in my old age....

When we visited Engelberg last time, we went to the hotel Edelweiss and we were informed about the evening child care service. So we took our daughter to the nursery-room in the hotel and we spent half an hour in the outdoor whirlpool. It was great !

They didn't charge us anything for the service. As I remember the had a day care service with reasonable prices and in the evening it was for free.

"GLOBI" Kids Club - hotel edelweiss engelberg - since 1904

Great thread, by the way !

I'd like to go skiing the Xmas, can anybody recommend somewhere in Switzerland or neighbouring countries we could stay that offers good childcare the boy will like and will give us (me and mrs P) some days and evenings together?

I highly recommend The Cambrian in Adelboden.
We went there last year and it was really marvelous! There is a playroom with toys and tv games. A baby-sitting service is also available if you would like. The hotel itself is lovely. Clean, very friendly and helpful staff, gorgeous spa, perfect location for skiing, delicious food, picturesque area.. I seriously cannot recommend it enough!
