Flow hasn't been on for a bit and I've had a few beers, am a bit annoyed and am going to make a prejudice comment totally against my nature.
I want to change our cleaners and I won't accept a Swiss person, I want a non Swiss cleaner. I have nothing against the Swiss at all but have found that at this particular job the expectation is to get paid a lot of money for frankly a half arsed job. For 100chf a week I want my modestly sized house to be clean, I think that is good money. When I was a student I would have got my house spotless for half of that amount in 3 hours, I don't know why I can't get the same here, I'm really cross.

We now also have a cleaner.
Never would have imagined having one such hired help before my children arrived.
She is a swiss.
She cost 30chf per hour, and she supplies all the cleaning liquid (at least she said so, until she saw that I bought some stuff too).
She has a license to buy industrial strength cleaning liquids and she works almost fulltime. She cleans some clinics etc.
She takes 2-3hours per week, decalcifying my toilets (especially the shower closet). It is sparkling clean every week!
Will I go back to cleaning myself? I think not. 60chf per week is ok for us.
Comment about swiss not clean enough, I think it is case-by-case. Sorry.

It takes about 1 hr 1 way to goto you....so...

I am using a cleaner from a company (it is praticaly the only small luxury I have kept.... cleaning is not vocational for me and Mr Lucy hates it more than I do). It has been working well for me, even though I seem to be a bit demanding. I agree with you - Germanic cleaning ladies are probably the worse cleaners and they even dare complaining your house is messy and untidy.
But, truth to be said, it is good, not great, and results can be very variable. I had friends that ended up terminating the contract, and sometimes when my regular cleanner is not availlable I get really bad surprises. I guess it all boils down to which cleaner is going to do to your house.

Just be careful that the person you employ has a permit, else you could end up in a pile of **** that your cleaner will not be cleaning up.

A really nice lady, but she could neither cook nor clean.
