My recent experience of both getting there, and being there has done nothing to dispel this image. A great river, pretty old town and a good buzz is marred by the feeling that cranes and roadworks are everywhere. Please discuss

I've never managed to see any beauty with Basel. I guess there must be something.... At least now it is a bit easier to pass through. Used to be total horror.
