I'll start with some obvious blockbusters Batman - The Dark Knight
I've always been a Batman fan right up until Batman returns when they tried to take it off in a comic book tangent, so was pleased when Batman Begins went back to the dark Batman we all enjoyed in Tim Burton's version. This improves on Batman begins, and is a decent 2 and half hours of action almost encroaching on Bond's space in some places.
Must see - Watch it. 10000BC
If you are going to watch this enjoy the cinematography but don't drink anything alcoholic because it will easily send you off to sleep. A loose, slow moving plot with uninspiring action scenes make it worth avoiding even if Camilla Belle is hot.
Next up Burn After Reading, not seen this yet but the trailer looks quality.

This is on my must-see list both because it is Coen Bros, but also because it features Brad Pitt getting slapped by John Malkovich. That is quality.

I want to see the one with Ricky Gervais in it. Can't remember its name but he is haunted by a person. What a crap thing to write, I should go and get the Sunday paper and find out exactly what the name is.
Mr lesley wants to see James Bond, I don't. I was hugely disappointed in the last one, too much violence for my liking plus I don't like JB as a genre anyway.

Ghost Town. I wasn't impressed by the trailer they showed: big dog has bad breath. Very funny, or not
I'm not a great fan of his in any case, he seems very snide in all the interviews I have seen, and seems to have adopted the "I am the greatest comedian that ever lived" selfbelief that doesn't sit well with the rest of the English character.

BigD | I think the problem with Gervais is that he is actually like David Brent so the same character shines through in anything he does. Whilst I found The Office watchable it wasn't amazing. Extras was crap.

I adore Ricky Gervais, have you listened to his podcasts. I think they are around 2 years old now, but hysterically funny. Totally off topic so apologies.

Fair enough, bear in mind though that we were living in a country where anything amusing in English was marvellous. We did have a comedy night once a month in town, but whoever booked the turns had a different sense of humour to everyone else in Bangkok. I think he trawled the working mens clubs for the worst examples.
Going back to films, the one I want to see but have left it far too late is Mama mia. I imagine it will be out on DVD soon.

Get "Hot Fuzz" on DVD, from the guys that did Shaun-of-the-Dead very funny and I suspect you will enjoy it.
