hello all

currently an ex-pat but moved to brussels, finding it harder than I thought to meet friends and new people, people who say "everyone in belgium speaks english" = Yeah right, Its tough...

Been on a couple of "dodgy dates" where half-way through the meal, the girl casually says "Yes I'm seeing somebody, its going well" - Great, thanks for that sweetheart, I enjoyed my prawn cocktail immenseley now after wasting the last 40 minutes for nothing

hoping that the only reason is that im new to this (last time I moved away was 4 years ago) and that I have yet to find the good areas yet

Heading to zurich soon to sit in a hot-tub, smoke cuban cigars and drink beer

Thought I'd say hello and welcome any advice/comments to help in my quest for fun and frolics in the Belgium region!!!

Moving to foreign parts is not easy you're right. The sight of men abusing themselves during ramadhan is one that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
Maybe the women you are dining with should be questioned more closely before forking out for gourmet meals. A simple 'are you sharing body fluids with anyone?' should sort it out.
