| | Sugar Daddies
Take a look at this introduction site (pretty much safe for work!), it's not dating but a way for (mostly) young and cash strapped girls in the UK to find a "Sponsor" to help them through financial hardship.
There is nothing new about "Sugar Daddies", but this new way of finding one using a legit "pimping" service I find very uncomfortable. What is also uncomfortable (or am I just getting old and turning into "Disgusted of TW"?) is that divorce firms in the UK are advertising their service. Quote: Are you a student, a single parent or just short of money?
1000s of wealthy executives, international businessmen and diplomats are eager to sponsor you through these difficult times. Typical sponsorship can be £2,000 - £25,000 per year. What is a ‘Sugar Daddy'?
A sugar daddy, as the name implies, is a personal benefactor, or ‘sponsor'. What does a sugar daddy do?
Your sugar daddy is required to ‘sponsor' (i.e. provide you gifts or financial assistance) to help you clear any debts or assist you through financially difficult times. What do I do?
Whatever you think is reasonable and no more. Most sugar daddies expect companionship as reward for their sponsorship, but any more than that should be negotiated between you and your sugar daddy. Is it legal?
Yes. We only provide the means whereby adults can enjoy a mutually beneficial arrangement. Do I have to pay anything?
No. All fees are paid by your sponsor. How many sugar daddies can I have?
Theoretically, you can have as many sugar daddies as you like. However, most sugar daddies enjoy the responsibility of taking care of their charges and being a ‘sole benefactor'. |

Fascinating! I don't know really how I feel. It's a bit creepy that it implies very young girl or boy and older guy. However, if it is between two consenting adults I see it as a clever and useful contact point. I mean, how should the two otherwise meet?

The same way they have in the past. It's just a modern way of doing what's been done for generations.

Nothing surprises me except the more blatant requests can now be given more publicity through the internet.
I used to read Private Eye magazine and the number of ads in the back like:"Need 2000 pounds to move away and start painting again in the Carribean, POBox 1234"
It's not of the gaul of those writing them, but the feeling that must have some measure of success (like Spam).

Any bloke willing to flash his money around as a prospective sugar daddy will soon find a hanger-on or two that he can indulge. The ones that concern me are those blokes that are suckered-into listening and then giving money following someones tale of woe, in the eternal hope that she might sleep with him.

There is something about it that makes me feel slightly sick. Sugardaddy, rightly or wrongly, conjures up a slightly seedy, sweaty old perv stereotype image.
Surely they could have called it "senior sponsorship" for want of a better expression?
Bleugh.
EDIT: that's assuming they are aiming to project an "innocent" type image.

I disagree Sugar daddy conjures up to me, a good looking older man.
If they called it senior sponsorship then I would picture my grandfather ew.

That strikes me as being truly horrible. agree with the person who said it sounded like a sweaty old man. I got the image of a naked individual on Brighton nudist beach. Not sure why.
