You should have blurred your eyes, causing your pupils to enlarge and show attraction, and whisked her to the dancefloor for a celebration of terpsichorean delight, greeting as you do so some of the guys lounging at the bar with the hand-swirl like-your-style gesture. Dazzle her with your mastery of the paso doble and let her go. If she comes back, she is yours. If not she never was.*

Ohhh... the Internet Dates! Dont get me started!!!
I met this girl online. Looked kinda nice in picture and we chat online for a few days and then on the phone, you know the usual.
She seemed quite bubbly and eager to meet and everything. I could'nt believe my luck, but still as "cautious" as I always am, suggested we meet for a coffee on a sunday afternoon (nothign better to do and also it doesnt feck up my weeekend). So we did... when I saw her coming out of the station, face looked familiar, from the picture (drastically discounted by lack of as much makeup), but she was hmmm... somewhat "special" - Not special as in special someone but special as in they get priority on the transport, parking spaces and access and also toilets.
It was one of those testing moments in my life when I got to practice self control (subduing the urge to run) and just get on with it without showing my true emotions.
And I must say I was quite good, after playing "good company" with her for a few hours, without making any pass or move at all, she had the nerve to say to me "You are a tough guy to please"
I mean its fine, but atleast let the other guy know so it doesnt turn into a rude or hurtful event when you meet i.e. if the guy just walks away.

BigD | NO! It was a girl alrite but with special needs, I think I specified that. But yes what I meant in the past part was let the guy (me) know so it does not end up as a hurtful nasty surprise.

So you got what you specified ? Do you mean special needs in the medical sense, or simply a nutter ?
I have had dates with so many nutters in Switzerland. I use that term generically from people who never shut up, to the super-needy drains, to those that are simply psycho-attention-seekers. What I call normal-well-adjusted people are actually quite rare in the expat community. It is more a case of care-in-the-community.

BigD | Are you winding me up?
I meant I specified in my post. Yes I mean as in medical sense, handicapped a little.
Ooohhh... I can deal with nutters, who never shut up, simply psycho-attention-seekers and the normal ones too easy, as long as they are aesthetic looking (Yes I am that shallow)
You are quite right about the expat community, I have been to few places where the expats hang out and it has been a disappointment. They seemed like ladies who definitely need services of male escorts if they seek any meaningful action.

I think there is also the comfort in relative anonymity in a foreign country, especially with a lot of contact being online. People appear, sleep with a large number of expats they meet at online events, then disappear again into obscurity.
As people build a lot of their relationships online, they don't bother with corroboration. If someone fails to log in, their 'partner' realises they don't even know where they live, let alone anyone that knows them through the real-world....
Question: how much corroborated information do you have about some of your expat "friends"/partners ? Some people come out to Switzerland and build a whole new identity, and some even fabricate a past.
