One of the Dukes of Baden (Karlsruhe) had a regiment of 250 odd, female, Hussars all dressed in pink - he kept them in a round tower in the Karlsruhe Stadtpark and had 8 of them in attendance 24/7.

His mother and the good burghers of KR were scandalized and the good lady kept at him until he agreed to disband the regiment. Only he found he couldn't part with 120 of them. The tower was ripped down soon after he died.
