| | Monday 9th March: Problems with posting, searching new threads
Hi Folks,
It seems that Saturday's upgrade has introduced a bug. Those of you on a corporate proxy only (at work) may find that you get a timeout when either clicking "new posts" "today's posts" and also when posting (actually your post will probably post but you will get a timeout).
After the upgrade, as usual, I tested the changes with IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera. I did not test from my work laptop, a step I will take in the future.
This problem is affecting IE6, IE7 and Firefox so it's fair to assume all browsers. This is almost certainly a problem with the StC webserver.
This is obviously bad in that 8am on a Monday morning is the worst time for this to happen, we might need to live with this for today, but the silver lining is that I think I can now reproduce the same error that occurred for a couple of you in Firefox only before.
Apologies for the disruption today, I'll look into it at the first opportunity.
Peachy

I'm surfing via company proxy now so let's test if this works. I had no problems clicking New Posts.
Edit: No problems. Surfing via IE

I'm surfing from my office's IE 7 and there seem to be no problems. Thanks for the heads-up though, Peachy. If it does start doing weird stuff I don't need to get paranoid that the boss is lurking...
I hope...

Any feedback positive or negative welcome. I can't be the only person with this issue.

Actually - don't know if it is just me but I noticed it on my home PC (running Firefox) and today in the office (IE7, as previously said) but the "Search Forums" drop-down box at the bottom of Today's Posts is missing.
I mean the box where you can jump to the various topics within the forum.

I'm at work and am having issues (we're on IE6 here) - 'new posts' or trying to open any thread takes a loooong time. Just letting you know, good to see this seems to affect only a few people, sure it'll get solved by tomorrow.

ok, I've looked at this further and it is definitely due Saturday mornings upgrade. Since only a handful of us are affected I will roll back the change this evening when I have the time and access to address any issues that may arise.
Expect a brief disruption around 18:00 this evening.
