I think I'm with HAT on this one. Especially the point of linking people out, away from the site is something I hadn't really though of but he's right. And I feel the feeds clogg up the "New post" so that you easily miss the interesting posts.

Minimum Post length now four characters. Make them all count.

I think the 10 character minimum is annoying, can we reduce it?

I agree that it clogs up new posts, it's quite annoying. I guess we can omit that user from the search or something

Yes, very good input re the RSS feed. Let's see how it goes over the next few days and then make a decision.
In the meantime, you can add user 'newshound' on your ignore list.

Good idea!

I better stop thanking people, my "thanks whore" counter is increasing.

I have changed the refresh frequency of the RSS feed so that it updates only every eight hours, to reduce the clutter of of the news stories between real postings.

It should be pretty easy and one line of code to change all the links in the rss feeds such that they open in a new window.

I nearly went all geeky in public there. That must never happen again.

Question

Tornado replied to somebody (can't remember who) that he should wait until Monday and then put his books on the STC for sale page. I don't want to get all hissy, but is it here and I can't see it (possible) or is it a work in progress?

The book list is not there yet as the OP is still waiting for the books to arrive. The for sale forum is a work in progress, coming to you soon !!

Tornado is busy back cleaning up on his own site, but I'm sure that there are already plans for a For Sale/Wanted forum, as on eof a number of improvements we are going to roll-out over the coming weeks.

We wanted to limit the number of forums we initially launched...
