Default Cooking with Frozen food

I was going to continue Jet Lag's "Food Cheats" thread but thought I'd start something specifically for cooking from frozen.

Last night I had a bit of a random success, a Paella for 2 in under 20 mins and under 10chf.

Get one of these (6.90chf) from Co-Op
Arbi Condiscog.Sugofrutti di mare450g TK

Heat in a pan, while you are doing this boil a two person portion of risotto rice in another pan with some saffron for 10 minutes, after 10 minutes drain and rinse rice thoroughly and chuck it in the pan and stir.

We bought a big freezer with a view to take advantage of promotions on meat at the supermarket, whilst I'm adapting to the discipline of thawing stuff in advance I'm trying to find some meals then can be cooker direct from the freezer, so hopefully I'll have some more of these.

Mr SFG found some very delicious crumbed turkey steaks which can be cooked from frozen. Combined with the 6 minute flavoured dried pasta packs from Coop, it's a quick and fairly decent meal.

Ver timely Peachy, we're having a Spanish themed lunch on Sunday. You've probably just saved me many chf's. My recipe includes chicken, pancetta (or belly pork) and chorizo. We will be starting with the ridiculously easy to make gazpacho and ending with lemon sorbet with raspberries. Yum yum yum to all of it except the paella. The sherry in particular.

The Migros filling station next to where I used to work had a similar Paella to cook from frozen. I've a feeling it came with rice included.

It was ideal for those days when you just wanted to get home and eat with the minimum amount of time spent in the kitchen.

If I sat on my balcony with more than my ipod on, let alone guitarists sounding out, I'd be evicted I think, add that to a cigar and I'd be deported. Daft old bint upstairs still muttering.
