We usually have a few vegetarians at our BBQs, so we start with a BIG couscous with lots of veggies in it. And then we can grill various kebabs with assorted meats and veggies. Then everybody can choose what to put on top of their couscous.

You may have to grill the veggies on the smaller Weber, depending on the degree of "devoutness" of your guests.

Some good appetizers and desserts will take the focus off of the main meal. Can you do potluck with apps/desserts? Then people with dietary restrictions can make sure there is something for them.

Good luck.

1. Vegetarians: Potato salad (your local metzgerei normally sells bottled sauces, just add bouillon and boiled potatoes).
Another choice is hornli-salat
Bread
BBQ peppers / corn (maize)
Salat packs from COOP / Migros / Aldi?

2. For normal folks who like bloodied animals:
Marinate about 5 kg of chicken wings (for BBQ fluegli is best) overnight
(I use Hoi Sim Sauce and Black Soy Sauce with some sherry and sugar)
Marinate also steaks or easier to do schweinkottelette

3. Another option is to get a deepfryer (I have one, if you want to borrow it) but it is quite time consuming to deep fry stuff (fries are good for children though) / it is easy just takes time

4. Buy pre-cooked apero stuff to bake in oven (COOP / Migros / Aldi)

5. Remember to buy ice-cream (stick kinds / no mess)

This is an easy potato salad and tastes great. Buy small new potatoes put in a tray, drizzle generously with olive oil and add roughly grained sea salt. Add large garlic cloves still in skin and a few rosemary twigs and roast until cooked. Remove from oven add a good table spoon or 2 of rough grained mustard and the same of balsamic vinegar. Give a good mix and serve hot or cold.

Yummy.

P.S no need to peel spuds.

The large frozen salmon trout from Migros are economical for large no's of guests and taste great from the barbie.

Dry the fish and put a good knob of butter, fresh chopped parsley and crushed garlic into the stomach cavity. Season inside and out. Wrap in double foil and before closing the last end pour a good drop of white wine in. Seal well and pop on grill. 15-20 mins for both sides usually does it as the wine steams it.

Go to your local 'ethnic' shop for bargain frozen prawns. Our girl has a serious sea food addiction, prawns are a particular favourite. They are ruinously expensive in ordinary shops but much more affordable in our local indian grocers. By getting them this way, I can buy octopus and squid for her from Migros.
Grill your (defrosted) prawns and serve with some garlic mayo.

Migros from time to time have a special on their tiger prawns and they end up fantastic value for money, I will pop into the Chinese supermarket in Kreis 4 to compare prices though.
