The Outback lodge is a typical Australian theme pub that benefits from a great location adjoining Stadelhofen station. It consists of an old style bar and common restaurant area with pleasant large windows and large table to accommodate the huge platters are available. The menu is the usual Ostrich, kanger kebab kind of fair with those country-fries and chicken wings. All are reasonable but not remarkable. The draught beer is Fosters and the wine is not that great considering the area it represents.

There are a number of podia at which to stand and drink in the bar area and this is a major plus, making it both a pub and restaurant. It is a great meeting place and it is a comfortable place to wait alone.

Tables outside in the courtyard area are very pleasant and it gets very busy in summer.

Note that although it is supposed to be a smoking venue, it is not widespread and cigars are not permitted. This policy extends to its other pubs such as the Outback in Winterthur and the Red Ochre Grill in Uster.

This place is not a special venue in my opinion, but it can be recommended as a meeting place for the first stop on a tour of the Zürich Old Town or lads' night out.
