Liquid is about 5 minutes walk off the Langstasse towards Kaserne.
As you can see from the picture it features a colourful slightly retro interior with a DJ booth at one end of the room.
It's a pretty good place to have a beer early evening since it is normally quiet and airey. Later on the place livens up with people drinking pre club. Liquid has a selection of cocktails on offer and certainly at weekends a DJ.
The music varies depending on the night but expect House or Electro at the weekends, it's normally pretty good whilst not being too intrusive, you could happily sit on one of the sofas for the evening talking with friends. Late in the evening people will start dancing and the music goes on till late (certainly later than I've been there).
Best for: Mid to late Pub crawl along the Langstrasse with possible view to settle there for the night, a good alernative to Long Street bar.
It reminds me of Boos Bar in the centre of Zürich with its tiny chairs for height-challenged people, 1970s feel and an in-the-bar DJ. Not sure it's my thang, but I think it is worth checking-out next time we get a group together.
This is quite different from Boos. Boos is quite crowded and has an almost cafe feel about it whereas Liquid has big sofa's and whilst not a big bar has more of a feeling of space and much more character.
