They cannot have an experience and feel, unless they can validate the feeling with an audience, and someone actually tells them how they should feel. For example, her penguin has passed away. Her first reaction is to post Mary's penguin has passed away , because she needs to broadcast before taking any emotional step. Once people starts to empathize with what she should feel awwwwww, poor you, you must feel so sad , the she starts feeling sad. If I remember well, the authors couldn't conclude if this was a cause or consequence. Meaning, if these persons were already like this, and having a captive audience just magnified this. Or, whether having a captive audience just made people need to broadcast at all times.

We had a very good example of this in that other forum we shall not name , that kept us amused for days and days.
