If it was an illness or medical condition, he wouldn't have to embark in lengthly 10-year legal battle... Banning him due to smelly feet would have been considered a discrimination, and that his not tolerated in any civilized country. If the student was discriminated due to a condition, probably the tone of the judge would have been different and the university might have to pay him a compensation.

I agree that we can only control our own smell up to point.... but for this person, things seems to have been way out of control. It may not bother him, yet others might have a different opinion.
