I think that would be a great idea, I have been finding it difficult also with the new posts search
Another issue is the thread title not displaying on posts made after the start of the thread, as I often open up new posts in separate tabs I have to look at the top of the browser to remember what the thread title was again or scroll up to the first post - when I reply to threads like this one now the 'thread title' field is blank where as If it automatically duplicated the original thread title it in 'my opinion' would make life a bit easier
